We are stoked to welcome BBC 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins as he hosts ‘Awesome Friends’, a night dedicated to finding the freshest sounds and championing the acts you need to watch.

This second edition at Sunbird Records features Good Health Good Wealth, Stil Life and Pinstripe plus a DJ set from Chris himself.

Good Health Good Wealth

Good Health Good Wealth are an alternative singer songwriter duo consisting of London vocalist, songwriter and producer Bruce Breakey and guitarist, producer and model Simon Kuzmickas.

One local, one immigrant, GHGW invite you into their world and ‘The Sound of Their London’.

Inspired by visionaries such as N.E.R.D, and Daft Punk and the personal storytelling of Kanye West, The Streets and Mac Miller, they cherry pick elements from a broad range of genres whilst remaining unmistakably British in the process.

Through their songs they navigate modern life and the seemingly endless pursuit of happiness. They delve into love, money, sex, stereotypes, and all the colourful schemes and situations dealt with by everyday people. The duo are about ethics not politics, and want to spread positivity and unity in an era which feels increasingly bleak.

Stil Life

Stil Life are a five-piece from Blackburn, formed by lifelong friends. Writing and recording from their own studio, they draw on influences like Slowdive and The Cure, creating a sound that moves between grunge, shoegaze and alt-rock, built on weight, atmosphere and melody, shaped by years of playing together.

Pinstripe

Music to make you dance, laugh, feel, think, love, wonder and feel all over again.

Once the bands have played Chris Hawkins will be taking to the decks for an hour and close out the night with a set of big Indie Bangers to send you off into the night wanting more.
