Sunbird is excited to announce a one off show by the hotly tipped HotWax on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May 2023Currently out on tour with The Pearl Harts, Raw punk powerhouse HotWax are ripping up the template and ripping up stages across the UK.
With a handful of self released tracks, and barely out of school, Tallulah Sim-Savage (vocals and guitar), Lola Sam (bass) and Alfie Sayers (drums) are already confirmed to share festival stages with Queens of the Stone Age, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Strokes this summer and their rarified live energy and sound has already won them the support of Nova Twins, Wolf Alice and Jack Saunders.
Forging post-punk, grunge and alternative rock, HotWax have created a sound that is both unique and familiar, from the expressive, explosive snarl of vocalists like Karen O and Courtney Love, to the youthful, irreverent zest of Wet Leg, and the unruly, down-low guitar sound peddled by grunge greats Nirvana and Mudhoney.
“undoubtedly, the most exciting – and wickedly confident – new young band in the UK” – NME
“great songwriting cranked through the kind of explosive tension and noise that made early Nirvana such a rush” John Robb (Louder Than War)
Catch them whilst you can in such intimate surroundings before high profile summer support slots with The Strokes and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs!Trust us, by the end of this summer HotWax will be on everyone’s lips and they’ll be the band everyone wants to see.
Support comes from:Waltz Away – Melodic melancholic heartbreaking dream pop.Dilemma’s – North West Indie upstarts from Blackburn.
FREE ENTRY, doors open at 7pm arrive early to avoid disappointment.
